Thame Mani Rimdu festival 2012 fixed departure
Mani Rimdu festival is celebrated at the monasteries of Tengboche, right after the full moon of October. The same festival is celebrated right after the full moon of spring inThame and ChiwangMonastery. The monks, with elaborate masks and costumes on, perform a series of ritualistic dances of the triumph of Buddhism over Bon, the ancient animistic religion of Tibet. On the first day of the festival, Lamas of the monastery pray in the courtyard.
The second day you can see the Lamas dancing with brocade gowns and wonderful painted paper-mouth masks. Hundreds of Sherpas from Khumbu attend the performance. Along with the serious and intricate dances, the Lamas also dramatize two absurd comic sequences that make the entire performance a grand. On the final evening of Mani Rimdu, the villagers join in an all-night Sherpa dance. Visit Himalaya Treks has the following trips of Kala Patthar-Everest Base Camp.

Program Itinerary (Short)
May 22: Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to Hotel O/N Kathmandu.
May 23: Day 02: Sight-seeing of Kathmandu: Full day’s sightseeing in Kathmandu valley includes the Hindu temple complex at Pashupatinath (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) & the biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhanath. Also visit Monkey Temple the Swyambhunath (2000 years old temple) and visit Patan city of fine arts. Return to the hotel.
May 24: Day 03: Flight from KTM – Lukla. Trek to Phakding (2,652m).
May 25: Day 04: Phakding to Namche (3,440m) - Beginning with a slight climb to Jhorsalle, the trail passes a waterfall. All day, we pass villages interspersed with magnificent forest- rhododendron, magniolia trees and giant firs. And on the way to walking you will be rewarded (weather permitting) your first glimpse of Kusum Kanggru (6369m) Thamserku (6608m) Everest (8848m) and Nuptse (7879 m). A steep climb up to the beautiful village of Namche bazaar (3440m)
May 26: Day 05: Acclimatization day in Namche. Acclimatization is most important before proceeding to a higher elevation. It is therefore recommended that you take a short days hike to Thame, Khunde or Khumjung or relax and explore the sherpa culture of Namche.
May 27: Day 06: Namche to Thame (3800m)
Start Mani Rimdu festival
May 28: Day 07: Thame Mani Rimdu festival
May 29: : Day 08: Thame mani rimdu festival
May 30: Day 09: Thame Mani Rimdu festival
(End Thame Mani Rimdu festival)
May 31: Day 10: Trek back to Namche
June 01: Day 11: Trek continue to Everest base camp or back to Lukla

Bhutan Tour,
Excellent quality: the tourist guide and services were above expectations extremely friendly and very helpful. Chitwan National park tour, Very nice fun and very good guides, Accommodation were also very good, overall very nice and pleasant tour.

The guide and porter were extremely friendly and helpful. Overall the tour was very nice and pleasant.
Conclusion:
Overall we are very pleased with the service of visit Himalaya treks and we definitely will recommended to friends, The constant concern on helping and pleasing us was incredible. I really enjoyed my stay in Nepal. The nature is unbelievable beautiful. The trek absolutely is doable in those 12 days Jomsom Muktinath trek.
Rajan is a very nice guy. He's doing his job very well, always takes care of me. Kabi is amazing carrying my luggage. I still don't know how he can do this. If he could speak a little better English then I'm sure he's a fun guy to have around. I can totally recommend Visit Himalaya Treks.

We have just returned from 23 days (October 01-2011 to October 23-2011) on trek with Himal and his team, taking in both Dhaulagiri and Annapurna base camps. This was our third trek with Himal and it was every bit as special as the others. His organization, attention to detail and real care for his clients and the porters are excellent.
