Tansen Tour

The township of Tansen is among a few towns outside the capital which bears a rich legacy of the traditional art and architecture. Perched on the lap of the spectacular Srinagar Danda (hill) Tansen, commands a gorgeous panorama of the Himalayas as well as the plains of Terai. Located at an elevation of 1310 meters Tansen is a pleasant place to visit during any season of the year. The hill of Srinagar, half an hour's walk up Tansen Bazaar at an elevation of 1524 m. is rare vantage point to view the contrasting manifestation of nature. An Incredibly Long panorama of the mountains encompassing Kanjiroba, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Langtang Himal at a stretch is visible from here on one hand, while on the other the plains of Mardi valley and the bigger Terai also comes to distinct view from the same point. Tansen is a good put off point for short as well as long treks.

You can visit some of the beautiful points on the Kali Gandaki River such as Ranighat Palace and Ramdi Ghat the dense and serene woody slopes of Rambhapani and Satyawati lake. For longer treks you can choose any area in Annapurna-Dhaulagiri region such as Dhorpatan, Jomsom, Ghorepani or Annapurna Sanctuary. Tansen also provides opportunity for study of Buddhist culture and the life and culture of Magar tribes

Program Itinerary (Short)

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport,then transfer to Hotel O/N Hotel
Day 02: Full day sightseeing; Swayambhunath, Bouddhanath, Pashupatinath & Patan durbar square.
Day 03: Kathmandu – Pokhara by drive then transfers to Hotel.
Day 04: Full day city sight seeing around Pokhara
Day 05: Drive to Tansen and transfer to Hotel and explore around.
Day 06: Full day sightseeing.
Day 07: Drive back to Chitwan Jungle National Park and transfers to Hotel/Resort.
Day 08: Full day’s jungle activities.
Day 09: Drive back to Kathmandu by drive then transfers to Hotel.
Day 10: Half-day city sightseeing in Bhaktapur & back to Kathmandu.

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how pleased Katie and I were with our trek of the Annapurna Circuit. “Thank you Himal” and your staff went out of your way from the very beginning to ensure that we had everything we needed to fully enjoy our trip. You presented all the information we needed in a very professional and easy to understand manor. You picked us up at the Airport and then made sure we were settled into our Hotel in Kathmandu before briefing us on what to expect for the next few days. Your \"city/cultural\" staff were very knowledgeable about the sites we visited in and around town and made sure we got to enjoy all the town has to offer. Before the trek our gear was inspected and checked to make sure we had everything necessary and we were introduced to our guide Rajan at a breifing the evening before we departed for our Trek. On the trek both our guide and porter did an amazing job of keeping us safe, informing us about things of geographical and cultural interest, and making sure we were having FUN ! I can\'t tell you how fortunate we felt having them with us.
