Sikles Trekking is recently explored and virgin trekking routes in the southern Gurung settlement of Nepal above the Mardi Khola (1,980m). You are approached through a close look at the formation of mysterious mountain wonders like Annapurna IV to the north and Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal. The spectacular short trek traverse a variety of terrain from low land villages up to the richest and largest of Nepalese Gurung (Gurkha) village as well as blooming forests of rhododendron in the spring.

This trekking trail is relatively developed one, although close to the main trekking region in the Annapurna. Few lodges or tea houses are available. The extreme beautiful and well kept Siklies Village is perched on a hillock at an altitude of 2000 meters. The trek itself is not a difficult one allowing time to study the wealth of flora and fauna to be found on route whilst also providing some wonderful views of the Annapurnas.Siklis is renowned for its well maintained rustic flair of traditional Gurung villages. The village has five traditional neighborhoods Lama-Thar, Sabha-thar, Harpu-thar, Dhaprang-thar and Gairi-thar each bearing its own significance in the community. The lanes of the village are narrow and flanked by stones. Mud houses can be also observed in significant numbers. The villagers follow both the Shaman and Budhist priests in their socio-cultural rituals like marriage, death and deal with ill fate.

 The region is perfect for bird watching because of its pristine forested surroundings where various species of birds are inhabited. The trekking route offers wonderful views of the Annapurna and Manasulu ranges. You are trekked climbing though oak, rhododendron and bamboo forest and following ancient trails to the Madi Khola valley and stayed in the villages of Sikles, Tang Ting and Bhujung.

This new trek offers a truly captivating village experience where we get to see the real rural Nepal. Trekkers can enjoy by camping at unique sites, eat the local dishes and witness daily life unfold around us.
