Chulu west Peak Climbing in Nepal.
Ascent of Chulu West and best made from a base camp in a
small valley north of Manang situated off the main trail to Thorong La pass
5416m. North-West Ridge: Go beyond the
hut following the yak pastures and walk up a ridge which leads into a hidden
valley where it is possible to find a good site for base camp. From this camp,
ascend steep slopes to a face 4,900, on a subsidiary ridge that leads down from
the main ridge. To the north of the face ascend snow slope for 200 meters to
the base of a band of rock at an altitude of 5,100 meters.
Climb the rock band with some difficulty to the north-west shoulder of Chulu
west 5450 meters. Where another camp can be established or alter-native a camp
can be placed on a snow plateau above 5,530 meters. On the first ascent and several subsequent
ascents rope was fixed on the rock band. From the plateau continue up the progressively
narrowing ridge to the summit 6,419m. Descend by the same route.

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu airport receipt and transfer
to Hotel O/n Kathmandu.
Day 02: Sightseeing on Kathmandu valley O/n Hotel Kathmandu.
Day 03: Drive to Bhulbule via Besisahar o/n Bhulbule (7-8 hours drive)
Day 04: Trek to Syabge (1100m) O/n Syange
Day 05: Trek to Tal (1700m) O/n Tal
Day 06: Trek to Danakyu (2300m) O/n Danakyu.
Day 07: Trek to Chhame (2670m) O/n Chhame.
Day 08: Trek to Pisang (3200m) O/n Pisng.
Day 09: Trek to Manang (3540m) O/n Manang.
Day 10: Acclimatization day at Manang O/n Manang.
Day 11: Trek to Chulu west Base Camp 4000m O/n Camp.
Day 12: Trek Chulu west high camp 5000m O/n Camp.
Day 13: Summit Chulu west 6419m and back to Base camp O/n Camp.
Day 14: Chulu west base camp to Thorong Phedi (4450m) O/n Thorong Phedi.
Day 15: Cross Thorong – Pass (5416m) and continue to Muktinath (3800m) O/n Muktinath.
Day 16: Rest day at Muktinath O/n Muktinath.
Day 17: Trek back to Jomsom O/n Jomsom.
Day 18: After breakfast flight back to Pokhara O/n Hotel Pokhara (Afternoon sightseeing Pokhara)
Day 19: Drive back to Kathmandu or fly back to Kathmandu O/n Hotel Kathmandu.
Day 20: Free day at Kathmandu O/n Hotel
Day 21: Transfer to Airport for final departure!!!!!!

*We (my wife and me) have just done the 21 day Everest 3 High Pass
trek,April 28th 2011 to May 19th 2011. The views were fantastic, clear skies
and panoramic views of the Himalaya's. An especially perfect day when we
crossed the Khongma –LaPass (5335m) which we enjoyed very much and we have
to say thank you to Himal (owner of the Visit Himalaya Treks) and also
our great guide Rajan and porter Tilachan who were both very supportive and
professional throughout the whole trip. We appreciated their smiling faces
and friendliness each day. Rajan seemed to have a very good relationship
with all of the lodge owners and staff which made us comfortable. The trek
was exactly what was described at a fair price. We are very happy to

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how pleased Katie and I were with our trek of the Annapurna Circuit. “Thank you Himal” and your staff went out of your way from the very beginning to ensure that we had everything we needed to fully enjoy our trip. You presented all the information we needed in a very professional and easy to understand manor. You picked us up at the Airport and then made sure we were settled into our Hotel in Kathmandu before briefing us on what to expect for the next few days. Your \"city/cultural\" staff were very knowledgeable about the sites we visited in and around town and made sure we got to enjoy all the town has to offer. Before the trek our gear was inspected and checked to make sure we had everything necessary and we were introduced to our guide Rajan at a breifing the evening before we departed for our Trek. On the trek both our guide and porter did an amazing job of keeping us safe, informing us about things of geographical and cultural interest, and making sure we were having FUN ! I can\'t tell you how fortunate we felt having them with us.
