River Rafting

White water rafting means cruising down a rushing river in an inflatable rubber raft or white water kayak over crashing waves and swirling rapids for the excitement of lifetime. Nepal has earned a reputation as one of the best destinations in the world for white water rafting. Nepal 's thundering waters, coming from the glaciers of the mighty Himalayan, provide unmatched thrills for rafting and immersing oneself in the landscape. A rafting trip is bound to be the highlight of your stay in the country.

Rivers are graded on a scale of one to six, with one being a swimming pool and six a one -way ticket to your maker. Four is considered to be quite challenging without being exceedingly dangerous to the novice rafter. Five requires some previous river experience. Here are some of the popular rafting trips: The Trisuli River 01 days to 05days (grade 3+) is one of the most popular, if not the favorite, of Nepal's raft able rivers. Due to its proximity to Kathmandu and the easy road access which accompanies it, most rafting companies offer trips on the Trisuli. For first time rafters it offers plenty of excitement. Many choose to incorporate a ride down the Trisuli with either a trip to Pokhara or to the Royal Chitwan National Park .

Bhote Koshi River Rafting (2 Days)

River Bhote Koshi is two-days run of pure adventure. It is located only in three hours from Kathmandu. It is the steepest river rafted in Nepal technical & totally committing with a gradient of 80 feet per mile it is a full eight times steeper then Sunkoshi which feeds further

Marshyangdi River Rafting (6 Days)

The Marsyangdi is one of the best white water runs in the world. Can be reached 4-5 hrs driving out of Kathmandu and the starting point of the world’s most beautiful trekking Round Annapurna.

Karnali River Rafting (9 Days)

Karnali River is the longest and largest river situated in the far west of Nepal. It flows through steep, jagged canyons where the rapids are tightly packed, offering continuous challenging water at all flows.

Trishuli River Rafting (3 Days)

Trisuli River one of the most popular river for rafting. The easy access is provided by Prithvi-High Way and link to safari at Royal Chitwan National Park. It provides 2 to 3 rapids but the river promises a more challenging ride, with powerful rapids during monsoon. The trip can easily be combined with a visit to chitwan National park or Pokhara.

Sun Koshi River Rafting (7 Days)

The rafting trip in Sun Koshi River is Nepal’s longest one. The run of 270 km requires 7-9 days to complet. It is must enjoyable river in the world; it is just 2 hrs drive out of Kathmandu, barely 60 km from the Tibetan border and ends the trip looking down the hot, dusty gun barrel of the North India.

Kangchenjunga trek 2009 In one word it was fantastic. It was heavy but every step was worth it! Himal and his team are very skilled and can work well together. We had a great time with eachother and the journey was beautifull. I can recommend this to everybody to do this once in their life but ofcourse there is also a warning involved...when i fetched the photo's the other day, i got a feeling of homesickness that i thougt to myself that one time is not enough in such a beautifull place and a fantastic group of people. Dear "thinking about teaming up with Visit Himalaya Treks traveller".Since 1998 I have visited beautiful & exiting Nepal several times,always leaving with a strong desire to return as soon as I find a new chance! Nepal touched my heart completely, nature/climate, people, culture.In 2003 I learnt to know Himal Tamang, the company's MD. Besides cultural visits around Kathmandu, Chitwan Nat. Park in the south, also a wonderful group trekking experience to the area of Helambu, some hours by bus north of Kathmandu. Since then we always kept in contact for my next NEPAL EXPERIENCE! I'll tell you why.

This Helambu trekking was so well organized and pleasant, supporting/guiding us to finally pass 4600m' Laurabina Pass. We could enjoy the trekking, scenery and the social aspects to the most thanks to our Nepali supporting team!

Himal's professional, responsible, relaxed but serious and caring attitude towards all of us + his team of Sherpa's and porters was exactly what is important on a trekking in my view. Responding well to any small or major trouble on the way, being sensitive towards the group's interest and individual wishes. Not to mention his patience for the passionate birds & flower, photography lovers amongst us, which slowed the team down a bit...haha.

In 2005 I returned on my own and was so excited to visit Khumbu Valley, but weather conditions forced a change of plan. Pure flexibility on both sides brought us the next day to Annapurna Base Camp area for a 10 days trekking. With our mini-expedition of 3p I enjoyed a fantastic experience again.

A big plus is also his (local) knowledge after so many years of working in and outside Nepal. Plus the bridge that can be built by your leader, guides, porters with the locals you meet on the way.

So, my opinion: BOTH THUMBS UP FOR HIMAL AND HIS TEAM ! 100% trustworthy for everyone!

Last February we went on a 12 day long trekking with Himal to the Annapurna Base Camp. It was very nice! Every morning we felt like home because the took good care of us. Let us explain one thing: we are from the Netherlands and this country is below sealevel! Trekking therefore is sometimes quite a challenge! Luckely Himal and his crew were always possitive about our results of the day and they always helped us through the tough parts.

We would like to recommend Himal to all of you for all your trekkings and other expeditions in Nepal. Himal is a very kind and truthworthy man that will never abondon you in the wilderness.

I’ve done two trips with Himal. The first trip was the Everest Base Camp trek during March, 2004. The second trip was in March, 2009 when we attempted the Annapurna circuit. Both were excellent trips. There’s no better way to travel than with Himal. His organization skills and attention to detail, not to mention the first class service is second to none. In Nepal, this is critical, since you don’t want to waste precious vacation time. Himal is always in complete control. You don’t have to even think about logistics. After Himal meets you at the airport, the hard part is done. You can relax; you’re in good hands with Himal. I’m already thinking about my next trip with Himal.
